The Tithe Barn wedding photography, Petersfield, Hampshire.

It’s always rather lovely being invited back to photograph another wedding for the same family, so I was delighted when Helene asked me to be her wedding photographer. I’d photographed her brother’s wedding a couple of years ago.

Helene & James married at St Peter’s church in Petersfield and had their wedding reception at The Tithe Barn Petersfield. The barn is beautiful inside with church like arches and a very high ceiling. Helene and James also had a teepee marque outside on the lawn which was used for the drinks reception and for a quiet area in the evening.

Danish wedding traditions

The wedding had lots of Danish traditions which are really fun to photograph, these include the couple standing on chairs and kissing every time the guests clink their glasses, the couple kissing under the table when guests stamp their feet, the female wedding guests kissing the groom when the bride leaves the room and the groom having the toes cut off his socks during the first dance.  As you can imagine this all keeps wedding photographers on their feet capturing all of this.  Another Danish tradition is for a lot of speeches.

My coverage started with photographing Helene getting ready at her family home in Midhurst before the wedding ceremony in Petersfield.  St Peter’s church was packed with family and friends. We then travelled the short distance to the barn for the reception. The weather was absolutely amazing with deep blue skies and sun all day, perfect weather for a spring wedding.

Helene wore a gorgeous Reem Acra wedding dress with a stunning veil.
