Nicki & Jason’s wedding at St Mary’s Church, Henley on Thames, and Temple Island on Saturday 22nd September 2012.
Temple island is one of my favourite venues in the UK and I’m lucky to be their recommended photographer. Temple Island is in the middle of the River Thames a mile and a half downstream from Henley on Thames. The Temple building dates back to 1771 and is the starting point for the Henley Royal Regatta, a small number of wedding receptions a year take place on the island.
My coverage started at St Mary’s church where I caught up with the groom Jason before the ceremony. After the wedding ceremony guests made their way across Henley bridge to board a boat for the short trip up to Temple Island, last time I photographed a wedding here the weather was very wet but this time we were blessed with sunshine and blue skies.
Nicki’s dad made his speech outside as the sun was starting to slip lower down the sky, afterwards guests made their way into the marquee for dinner. Evening guests arrived by boat from Henley before Jason’s speech and the dancing.
