St Michael’s Manor wedding photography
Emma and Matthew had a 5pm ceremony for their March wedding at St Michael’s Manor in St. Albans.
St Michael’s Manor dates back over 500 years with the original house and was converted to a hotel in the 1960’s. It has a unique atmosphere with its beautifully decorated rooms. Weddings take place in the orangery overlooking the lake and landscaped gardens. I was very thankful for the large windows in the orangery that allowed the last of the March light to illuminate the ceremony. The weather was very wet but with a late ceremony it didn’t make any difference as there wasn’t any light left to get outside.
The day started for me photographing Emma and Matthew’s cats at their nearby home. What they say about not photographing animals is very true and at one point one of the cats saw his chance to escape through the cat flap which resulted in me trying to pull him back through without success. I did manage to get some fantastic photographs of the cats. I then drove the short distance to St Michael’s Manor to photograph Emma’s preparations before the ceremony.
These are 20 of my favourite photographs from Emma and Matthew’s wedding at St Michael’s Manor.
