For me wedding photography is about capturing the entire day and not just the parts that you would traditionally associate as being the wedding. For this reason I usually arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony and don’t leave until well after the dancing has started. I had the great pleasure of photographing a very small wedding in Arenal D’en Castell (a full Menorca wedding can be seen here). This was was a little different as the couple got married in the U.K. and had then had a friend conduct a ceremony under an Olive tree at a beautiful villa at Arenal D’en Castell, with just a handful of family and friends.
Everyone knows what a wedding looks like but perhaps don’t expect to see images like this in the wedding album. I had arrived at the villa to find the groom and some guests cooling off in the pool as the temperature hit 32c. To me this is all part of the story of their day and is just as important to capture as the ceremony.
