Amy & Ian’s wedding photographs at Merewood Country House Hotel.
July was a very busy month for me with weddings all over the country ending with a wedding near Brighton followed by a wedding in the Lake District the following day. I enjoy the travel and it’s lovely to work at different venues every week. The weather didn’t look very promising as I drove up to Winderemere on the M6 after a 4am start and I arrived at Merewood Country House in the rain to meet Amy at 10am. Luckily the weather improved and I had some beautiful light to work with later in the day.
After the preps photographs at Merewood Country House it was off to Jesus Church at Troutbeck for the 12pm ceremony. Jesus Church is nestled in the hills and looked beautiful bathed in strong sunlight, I had been told photography would not be allowed in the ceremony but luckily the vicar said I could take some photographs from the balcony at the back of the church and although it’s not the best angle it was much better than sitting and watching the ceremony and not being able to take anything. After the ceremony everyone made there way the short distance back to Merewood Country House Hotel for the drinks reception on the patio overlooking Lake Winderemere.
