I was back at the stunning Hedsor House near Taplow for Anastasia & Fredrik’s wedding in the summer. I love Hedsor House and am lucky enough to photograph a lot of weddings here.
Hedsor House is in beautiful grade II listed park and gardens above the River Thames in Buckinghamshire, with an impressive history dating back almost 1,000 years! The current house was built in 1868 after fire destroyed the previous building. Hedsor House is a stunning Georgian mansion that has been beautifully restored to its former glory. The house provides a picturesque backdrop for wedding photography. Hedsor House has also been used as a film location including Nicole Kidman’s house in the Golden Compass.
I met with Anastasia and Fredrick a few months before their wedding and Anastasia told me of the amazing and unique ideas she had for her wedding, one of which was to get all the wedding guests to write out a card which would include a photograph on the front, these would then be suspended from helium balloons, when guests entered the room the cards would be dangling at head height. I couldn’t really imagine what this was going to look like, but it worked really well and totally amazed the guests.
Photography for Anastasia and Fredrick’s Hedsor House wedding started with the bridal preparations before heading to nearby St Nicolas Church in Taplow for the ceremony. Guests then made their way to Hedsor House for the reception which ended with fireworks and sparklers.
Joanna Carter contemporary wedding flowers did an absolutely amazing job with the flowers.
