Festival style wedding
“Hi Simon , we were wondering if you would be interested in photographing our wedding at Hamps Hall, it’s going to have a festival theme with straw bales, fairly lights, fancy dress, camp fires and a rave in the evening”. Well how could I say anything other than yes I’d love to. And so it was that I photographed Atia and Dom’s wedding at Hamps Hall and Barn party house in Derbyshire.
Hamps Hall and Barn in Derbyshire
I thought I’d taken a wrong turn off the main road as I made my way up a single track twisting road hoping I wouldn’t meet traffic coming the other way, but eventually I arrived at Hamps Hall which is a big party house in the Peak District. Everyone then set off to Ashbourne Register office, this was a quick ceremony with just the legal bits as the real ceremony was later in the day. It was then back to Hamps Hall for a curry lunch before the main ceremony. At this point the weather turned very wet and I wasn’t sure if the ceremony would be able to take place outdoors as planned, but within an hour the skies cleared leaving brilliant sunshine.
Fancy dress and rave
In the evening all the guests changed into fancy dress for the rave and party, friends spun vinyl on the decks and the dance floor filled. It was totally bonkers which made for some great images.
What a fun wedding this was as you’ll see from the photographs.
