Sophie and Alastair’s wedding photography at Brockencote Hall and St Mary’s Catholic church, Harvington.
The narrow country lane gave no clues to the beautiful location of St Mary’s Catholic church at Havington near Kidderminster. The church is adjacent to Harvington Hall, the church itself was built in 1825 although previous to this and during the reformation Mass was celebrated in Hardington Hall. I was met with a friendly welcome and a tour of the church (and a lesson on it’s history) by the Priest Father John.
My wedding photography coverage started this week at the church with the arrival of Alastair in brilliant sunshine. Guests soon started to arrive and take their places in the church before the arrival of Sophie in a beautiful 1937 Alvis Speed 25 DHC which was originally owned by Casablanca actor Alberto Morin. The wedding ceremony made some stunning photographs and I was able to make use of a handy doorway which allowed me to take photographs from the front without being intrusive.
After the wedding ceremony it was a very short drive to Brockencote Hall for the wedding reception. Sophie and Alastair waved at guests as they arrived from the Alvis parked up on front of the lake in the sunshine at Brockencote Hall. After the drinks reception I took a handful of family photographs on the patio before the call for dinner. Speeches followed which are always great for photography.
After dinner Sophie and Alastair took a few tips on their first dance from one of their friends, the little bridesmaids seemed to pick up the dance moves very quickly. All too soon it was time for the first dance and the end of my coverage. For me though I have another 30 hours work processing all the photographs and designing a gorgeous 60 page 14″x10″ album.
