Pepper & Martin’s wedding at Wadhurst Castle

Pepper and Martin chose beautiful Wadhust Castle for their wedding which was planned from their home in Hong Kong.  I arrived at Wadhust in brilliant sunshine which was extremely welcome after so many wet weddings.

As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing many beautiful moments at various wedding venues. However, one of my favourite venues to work at is Wadhurst Castle, located in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. With its stunning architecture, elegant interiors, and breathtaking views, Wadhurst Castle provides the perfect backdrop for a perfect wedding.

Photographing weddings at Wadhurst Castle is not just about capturing the beauty of the venue, but also about creating a connection with the couple and their guests. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere, the castle creates a sense of intimacy and togetherness that is truly special.

Outdoor wedding ceremony at Wadhurst Castle

The wedding ceremony took place outside in the Walled Garden with the legal parts of the ceremony taking place in a small gazebo as under UK law weddings must take place in a permanent building.  I have photographed a number of outdoors weddings over the past few years but this was the first time I have seen most of the ceremony including the ring exchange take place outside rather than in a three sided building as is usually the case.  The outdoor ceremony made fantastic photographs and it was nice to be able to move around to photograph the ceremony from all angles.

During the drinks reception a stunt plane did an aerobatic display leaving smoke trails in a heart shape much to the delight of the guests.  Wadhurst Castle was a very beautiful backdrop for the drinks reception before dinner and speeches.
