Sally and John’s Hambleton Hall wedding photography
A beautiful lakeside setting and a Michelin star chef help make Hambleton Hall a very popular location for weddings, I’ve photographed a few here and always enjoy them, I was delighted when Sally and John asked me to be their wedding photographer. Rutland is only about 45 minutes from me, so is nice and local.
When Rutland Water was constructed in the 1970’s Middle Hambleton and Nether Hambleton ceased to exist, now the remains of both are lost under the lake. Upper Hambleton (now just called Hambleton) was on higher ground and became a peninsula surrounded by the lake on three sides. Hambleton Hall was built in 1881 and now stands overlooking Rutland Water.
Rutland at 18 miles x 17 miles is the smallest historic county in England.
Sally and John married in the 12th century St Andrew’s church at Hambleton before walking the short distance to Hambleton Hall for their wedding reception. Guests made the most of the beautiful weather in the gardens before heading inside for the wedding breakfast.
